Here is Yarwel and one of his son's ,who I stayed with
in Tanna while I was on a scope visit at Waisisi.


This is Noel he is hoping to come to NZ 
and work on the RSE scheme next year. 
He has been my electrician all year

We went and visited our friends 
Willy ,Arina and family to say our goodbye's


Willy's Mum gave us some tomato's 
the first harvest of her garden 


The boys have returned with  a ute full of coconuts
for the cook 


Aleisha and her friend are cleaning the pots



and they had to get the clothes in before !!!


they got to watch a DVD movie


Mr Kim is trimming the banana tree before he left 
for Auckland 


This is what you call a big pot of rice.


The Ford Ranger got its 70,000 km service 
before we left Port Vila


We flew out to Brisbane on Virgin and will be heading up
to Tree Tops in Cairns.
for a break before returning to NZ

Today was a busy day for the President of Vanuatu,
and the South Korean church delegate team,
also with the Minister of Education, 
and the PCVEA delegate team,
 with 2 x PCANZ Global Mission workers.

And the Chairman of the Malasi tabu School board.

We were together at the school graduation
at Malasi Tapu School yesterday,
and today at Etas school.

We were able to get a photo with the President and the First Lady 
It is the second time that we have 
been at an opening of a school together.

Last year we travelled together to S.E Ambrym to open 
Assie school, this was before he became the President of Vanuatu
we were both happy to see each other today.

of the second classroom by the
President, and The South Korean Church pastor. 


It was then time to share a meal with the President & First Lady
and all the delegate teams.


The School grounds were beautifully prepared for the occasion,
the flower gardens spelt out the school name.

The classrooms have fans, lights and new desks
30 students per class.
(for every 30 students the MoE will supply a teacher).

We were entertained by the Etas women custom dancers.
This was a wonderful display

This is the second school today that
was opened by the Ministry of Education (MoE)
this school is named Efate Maces's School 
run under Presbyterian Church Education Authority


The children from the surrounding area 
will no longer need to travel long distances to 
Port Vila for schooling



This is stage 1 (3 x classrooms)
stage 2 next year will be another 3 classrooms


The official delegate teams are welcomed to the school site
by the Maces's school community

Gloria is giving a farewell speech in Bislama and English, thanking them for her time as a teacher 
at Malasi tabu  School 


A gift was presented to her from the Principle and Chairman of the School Board
''A canoe''  meaning she will return and sail back 


Last kai kai lunch with some of the pupils from Class 1 


It was a 4am start this morning with Raymond Son No 1, flying home to NZ, after a weeks holiday,
and a 5am pick up, for PCANZ partners Martyn and Annette also, to the Airport as they 
return home to NZ after 8 months service in Vanuatu

Today was a special day at Malasi tabu School, 
''GRADUATION DAY''
 and the last day of school for 2017.
Gloria has been working with the YR 1 students all year 
The stage was decorated beautifully for the day.


Principal, Mrs Pakoa is adding the finishing touches to the uniforms.


The Teachers are looking smart in their uniforms.
                                              and  the students from Class 1,  in their uniforms.
