Mike and the team from Otago Polytech (Students & Instructors)
are completing a project on Paama Island


They took 4 water tanks to the Village of Liro
and also helped with maintenance at the Medical clinic and School



The team of 16 had to 
charter a plane to get them all there on time 
on the day that they wanted.

This is a common site on the coastline road

The day was great, a cloudless day


New tarseal has been laid along some sections of the new road


The tunnels have been renewed and look great





The rail tunnels have also been worked on.


Work hasn't completed and will continue for many years

We sold our Vanuatu quad bike to 
a Swiss couple, they are were excited 
to get it. 


We have upgraded !!!

This is the 6000 ltr water tank that St Kentigern School
from Auckland donated to the new 3 classrooms
at Macses School.


The President of Vanuatu and Ps Allen
are cutting the ribbon at the opening 
of the 3 new classrooms, 
of the new PCVEA School.



 Donated were desk and chairs from
St Kentigern School.



Thanks to the hard work of Elder Kim
who built these 3 new classrooms this year.

Day 5 at the Etas toilet block.
and we get a sit down and a rest.






PCV give a beautiful farewell and, said many kind words.


We were give a great afternoon tea which we shared 
with all the staff THANK you.


Etas community put on a culture dance for the 
building of the toilet block.

Day 4 for the Etas toilet block


The days are hot and sunny, and the team is finding
the heat exhaustion, But their is room for fun, 
and swinging on the doors is a test on good workmanship.




It is all completed on day 4.
Well done to the 6 builders of the Hibiscus Coast Team from
Auckland. 


Here is the team arriving back at Sutherland house, 
and are getting ready to pack for a return flight 
on Wednesday to NZ


This team arrived at Midnight on Sunday from the
Otago Polytechnic in Dunedin.
They are heading out to Paama at 7am on Monday
so we have some really shattered people 


Checkin for this Otago team was at 5.00am


They brought too much baggage!!!!so nearly another disaster.
Paama Island is about a 45 min flight away, and only 1 flight
a week. 
I was able to put the baggage on the ship called Big Sister.
These 8 pieces of baggage will arrive Monday night at 8.pm.



Here is the New 3 classrooms at Macses School. 
It ready to be opened on 25 September 2018

Day 3 Etas toilet block


The gutters and wall cladding is being prepared to go on.




The doors are to be fitted on Monday.
