I went to Tanna on Wednesday to check on
a project we started in November 2017.
The Project is the William Grey Memorial Church project
at Waisisi , its on the East coast
This is the airport at Tanna
This is our truck which we used to go part way to Waisisi.
we came from Lenakel which is a small town on the West coast .
We got within about 2 km from Waisisi, then we had to walk.
Cyclone Hula caused a river to run
down the road and these are the photos of its damage
This little girl also walked with us down the road
but she would some time disappear
as she would go down into the cuttings
as she crossed from one side to the other.
Here is the new Church building at Waisisi
it is 20 mtrs x 10 mtrs building
This has been built by hand
their is NO electricity here in Waisisi
They have been making all their own cement blocks
all the sand and coral came from the beach and No vehicles to help out
The beach is a 15min walk down hill
Time to recover before I got to walk up the hill.
They would like to have this building completed by May
if the materials I purchase in Port Vila arrive in time
Their is a saying what goes up must come down.
but for us today we need to go Up.
This bush track leads us to another
village it's normally an hour walk, all UP HILL
which took me 1.5 hours
( I was exhausted by the end of climb)
