It was a quick trip to Tanna on Tuesday for 2 days
to the village of Waisisi
to get a mission project underway.
Here is what is left of the William Grey Memorial church in Waisisi
after Cyclone PAM destroyed it in 2015
Big thanks to St. Paul’s Papamoa who are about to rebuild it
This building would have been a place people ran too for
shelter in Cyclone Pam
This photo was taken last year while Rev Dr Jaco Reyneke
was there visiting aboard the MV Pacific Hope
hospital ship
The ladies from Waisisi
they served a wonderful lunch meal while we
were getting details of the rebuild
The Chief and elders of the village
are busy discussing a plan to get this
project underway this year
They want it completed by Aug 2018
Anyone interested in helping contact Jaco
This is a Manse on the hill at Lenakel township
Its in need of maintenance work!!
We have sent materials to have this manse
repaired, the roof has been replaced
the funding came from The Presbyterial Church of Australia
PCA has also given funding to repair the church at Lounasuenan
which had the roof and building destroyed in Cyclone PAM
These building become a place of refuge in cyclones
as they are strong cement buildings
We have been able to assist the PCA in getting the materials to the building
site which sounds very easy but, here in Vanuatu
things seem to get missed counted and lost !!!
BUT we have been lucky with our planning
Its a quick meeting with Janet & Les from Dunedin (Rotary)
they are here doing some of their own project planning
its all part of the job here in Vila.
Thanks Janet & Les keep up the good work
